HOTV’s Monday 50 States Co-op

Heart of the Village is traveling the United States!

This year we’re starting a new co-op for kids ages 8-13, which will run for 25 weeks. We’ll learn various facts regarding 2-3 states each week, including landmarks, history, the flag, the state motto, foods, and local customs.

Students should be able to comfortably read/write at a basic level. We do most of the reading for the students, but some writing and reading happens in the class.

The price of the class includes a book that children will be able to keep at the conclusion of the class, and includes a passport with stickers for each state.

This is not a drop off. As a co-op (cooperative) we invite parents to be involved however they wish- either with assisting their child, or reading a story or presenting a lesson. We also welcome parents to work remotely from our space if their child is able to work independently.

We also have an area for younger siblings to play.

This co-op meets in Mt Laurel at 204 Ark Road, #103C on the following Mondays from 12:30-2:30:

October 7, 14, 21, 28        November 4, 11, 18

(off between Thanksgiving and Christmas for family time)

January 6, 13, 20, 27          February 3, 10, 17, 24

March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31         April 7, 14, 28

May 5, 12

The co-op will cost $260 per 25 week session for the first child, $240 for the second child, and $220 for any subsequent children, which includes the cost of the Passport to America book. (Refundable up until October 3; can be paid in two equal installments.)

No supplies are needed except a backpack or other type of bag and a folder.

We will have a short break in the middle of class when the students can have a small snack, or they are welcome to eat their lunch while they wait for other students to arrive.
